Hi, I'm Madison Johnson, the photographer behind Northern Focus.

I've always had a passion for real estate. Long before I ever picked up a camera, I found myself scrolling through Zillow, admiring homes and imagining what it would be like to photograph them. More often than not, I'd catch myself thinking, "This listing would look so much better with professional photos." Eventually, I decided I wanted to be the one behind the camera helping homes make a great first impression.

My real estate photography journey began in Nampa, Idaho, where I spent about a year photographing homes throughout the Boise area. During that time, I discovered just how much professional photography can impact a listing. Showcasing a home the right way captures buyers' attention and helps them picture themselves living there.

I know firsthand how powerful listing photos can be. I purchased my last two homes without ever touring them in person before buying them. The photos gave me the confidence to move forward, and that experience reinforced what I already believed—professional photography isn't just about making a home look beautiful; it's about helping buyers form an emotional connection before they ever step through the front door.

Originally from Minnesota, I lived in Idaho for three years before moving to the Brainerd Lakes Area in July 2025. What started as a side hobby has grown into something I'm truly passionate about, and I'm excited to continue growing Northern Focus by expanding my services while helping clients showcase their properties with confidence.

When I'm not photographing homes, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband, Lane, and our two dogs, Archie and Spud. We love exploring the Brainerd Lakes Area, enjoying the outdoors, and making the most of time together. Moving back to Minnesota has been an exciting new chapter, and I'm grateful to continue building Northern Focus in the place I call home.
